From now on you can watch Guillermo del Toro’s new film “Nightmare Alley” in the stream – only a few weeks after the cinema release! Netzwelt reveals what you have to do for it.

For his first film project since “Shape of Water”, Guillermo del Toro ventured into an adaptation of the novel “Nightmare Alley” by Lindsay Gresham from 1946. In it, the successful director takes us into the world of showmen, where the deceitful psychic Stanton Carlisle ( Bradley Cooper) dreams of great success.
“Nightmare Alley” started in German cinemas on January 20, 2022, and it cannot be ruled out that the film will end up in the Disney+ new releases program in Germany at the beginning of March, i.e. almost 45 days after the theatrical release.
In the USA, where “Nightmare Alley” was released on December 17, 2021, it has been so far since February 1st and the film is streaming on Hulu and HBO Max. You can also benefit from this if you would like to see “Nightmare Alley” now but are reluctant to see it in the cinema.

Actually, “Nightmare Alley” is a Fox Searchlight production and therefore belongs to Disney, which explains the US start on Hulu and the upcoming German release on Disney+. However, old contracts that are still valid also allow HBO Max to include some Fox titles in the stream offer at the same time.

While HBO Max continues to offer films and series before they are released in Germany, currently including “Peacemaker”, the streaming service will be somewhat less worthwhile in 2022, since new films from Warner Bros. are no longer streamed at the same time as the theatrical release. This exemption only applied to 2021 and brought in numerous new subscribers to HBO Max.
