After the finale of the second season "Nightsisters" flickered across the TV screen on July 7, 2020 (also on TVNow), fans now have to be patient. As RTL announced, there will be no new season of the medical series for the time being. The reason for this is the corona crisis, which, according to the broadcaster, "has a lasting effect on the entire production and program planning".
According to this, only a few of the fictional productions could "be produced as planned as we would have liked". The focus is now initially on programs that have already been commissioned before new seasons of other formats, including "Nightsisters", are commissioned. The team writes on Instagram: "We are all extremely sad about it and would have been very happy about another season – just like you – very much." However, one does not want to completely rule out a third season. "What is not can still be," it says promisingly.
