Barbara knows what is important for a beautiful Advent wreath and shows how it works. “Everything should be ready beforehand: scissors, wire, the straw blank. It’s best to cut the branches beforehand as well,” she explains to me. The tree of choice: fir. Their needles are dense, don’t sting as much as spruces and give off a wonderful Christmas scent. What is particularly close to Barbara’s heart: The women farmers only use trees that were felled anyway during forestry work.
