Nikon Film Festival: Alexandre Astier president of the 13th edition

Alexandre Astier will preside over the 13th edition of the Nikon Film Festival. The jury has been unveiled, as well as the terms and conditions for participating in this new edition of this short film competition.

The Nikon Film Festival returns for a 13th edition with a new theme, a new jury and major awards for various prizes. A popular springboard for young talents, this free event open to all is a festival organized by Nikon.

For 13 years now, the Nikon Film Festival has been an event that encourages video creation and promotes the emergence of new talents through a unique concept: allowing everyone to create and distribute a short film for free.

This year, the president of the Jury will be Alexandre Astier. Actor, author, director, composer, screenwriter, producer, editor and musician, he is particularly known as the creator and main performer of the Kaamelott saga. For this 13th edition, he will be supported by Caroline Anglade, Mariama Gueye, Pio Marmaï, Luciole, François Descraques, Maud Chalard, Romain Quirot, Guillemette Odicino, Pascale Faure, David Bertrand and Alexandre Dino. Their mission will be to award several prizes, including the Grand Jury Prize.

At the heart of many beliefs, the number 13 holds a special place in the symbolism of numbers: a large part of the Western world associates it with misfortune, where China associates it with a lucky charm… As every year, the theme chosen voluntarily leaves room for a great possibility of interpretations for the filmmakers who wish to express themselves through the festival. Beyond a simple constraint, it makes it possible to determine a framework in which several hundred different looks will express their creativity.

Registration for the Nikon Film Festival is done directly on the site via a registration form. It is through this platform that it is possible to submit one or more short films from October 25, 2022 to January 25, 2023 – and to watch them. All the conditions of participation are available in the contest rules accessible from the site.
