The Covid-19 epidemic has impacted the production of numerous programs in the French audiovisual landscape. Koh Lanta, Top chef, The best pastry chef… All of these successful programs have been impacted in one way or another by the virus, causing many additional costs. Alexia Laroche-Joubert, president of Adventure Line Production which produces Koh Lanta, thus explained in the columns of Parisian on March 12, 2021 that organizing the filming in French Polynesia for the season currently being broadcast had been a real headache: “We asked our teams ten days before departure to do a first test and then to go into isolation. In the three days preceding the flight, to do a test again, at the request of the Polynesian government. Then, as soon as people disembarked in Papeete, they were in a hotel in separate rooms and in solitary confinement for four days. Then they did a test again, then another one at the entrance of the boat where the teams resided during the filming “. In the end, the businesswoman estimated the cost of such an implementation “between 300,000 and 400,000 euros additional”.
