New episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers could be coming soon. That would have implications for the first season of the show starring Nicole Kidman…

The Nine Perfect Strangers miniseries could according to the US industry portal “Variety” be extended for a second season. Accordingly, the new episodes of the TV show by David E. Kelley (66), in which Hollywood star Nicole Kidman (54) starred in season one, will be announced soon.

Once the sequel is official, “Nine Perfect Strangers” will be considered an ongoing drama series and no longer a miniseries for this year’s awards season, according to Variety. By changing the category, the creators of the series would avoid a discussion similar to “Big Little Lies”. The series scooped up multiple awards as a miniseries before a second season was announced.

Secrets in the wellness resort

The team behind the hit series “Big Little Lies” is also behind “Nine Perfect Strangers”. In August 2021, the Hulu series started in Germany on Amazon Prime Video. The story of the previous episodes of “Nine Perfect Strangers” takes place over a period of ten days in a spa resort. A group of people longing for a fresh start and healing meet in the facility, isolated from the outside world. However, resort manager Masha (Kidman)’s program isn’t what most of them imagined, and soon some secrets are revealed.

Starring alongside Kidman in season one of the series are Melissa McCarthy (51), Michael Shannon (47), Luke Evans (43), Bobby Cannavale (52), Regina Hall (51), Samara Weaving (30), Melvin Gregg (33), Asher Keddie (47), Grace Van Patten (25), Tiffany Boone (34) and Manny Jacinto (34) with. It is not yet known whether they will also be part of a possible new season. David E. Kelley, who is currently directing several other shows, according to “The Hollywood Reporter” unlikely to return as showrunner.
