Ninja or Die: Shadow of the Sun is coming to Steam in early August

Behind the Nao Games studio is actually one man: Nao Shibata, a former veteran of the Japanese video game industry who made the perilous conversion to development on his own account. ninja or die does not lack ambition for a first solo creation: if its structure and its look (neat by the way) will not upset the codes of the genre, the title relies on a rather comical gameplay concept. In Edo-era Japan, a great cataclysm disrupts the lives of little people like you and me. All the subjects of the archipelago become assassins, yokaïs or bipedal war machines: courtesans, restaurateurs, and even pickpockets. Our hero belongs to this last socio-professional class and wakes up one fine morning in the body of a ninja; and we give it to you in the bullseye, it is to him that the task of saving the country will fall.

Keep moving and nobody explodes

It is the very light foot that the shadow fighter will have to navigate through randomly generated levels, with the absolute necessity of remaining mobile in all circumstances: as the title of the game suggests, remaining inert will inevitably cause sudden death. . In return, the thief-ascendant-killer will prove to be invincible in the air and therefore, inevitably, the greatest threat for the unfortunate mobs who would dare to mess with him. The control of the jump will be done by the pressure of a single button. And to write it, we say to ourselves that ninja or die would stick really well to the mobile format… Pending a possible smartphone release, the title will land on August 2 on PC via Steam. A demo will also be available on the Valve store until July 17.
