Ninja’s Stacked Drawer Fryer Returns with a Probe for Demanding Cooks

Ninja continues to diversify its offering with espresso machines and, more surprisingly, a slush machine. That said, the American company has not forgotten air fryers.

Two new models were even presented at IFA, including one with a temperature probe. Nothing really new from Ninja in reality. Such an accessory was already provided with the DualZone AF451EU fryer and the OL750EU on the multicooker side, but we find it today in the Double Stack series with the SL451EU. If you are looking for a fryer with two drawers that does not take up too much space on the worktop and allows you to cook like a chef, this may be your chance.

A probe for cooking to the nearest degree

The special feature of the Double Stack fryers is that they offer two cooking zones, but integrated one on top of the other rather than next to the other. This allows you to benefit from a narrower appliance. The SL451EU is only 28 cm wide compared to 41.5 cm for the AF451EU, which has the same capacity with two drawers side by side. This new model ultimately takes up the dimensions of the SL400EU already released (and tested), as well as the same features and functionalities. But with its temperature probe, cooking food promises to be child’s play.

This probe allows you to more precisely monitor the core temperature of a food, while being alerted at the end of cooking thanks to the Smart Cook system. Simply indicate to the fryer a food and the desired cooking level or, if the food is not listed, the cooking temperature manually. The SL400EU has six cooking modes for frying, crisping, roasting, baking, dehydrating and reheating. And, thanks to the second drawer, a side dish can be cooked simultaneously. Ninja also provides racks to create up to four cooking levels on both drawers if necessary.

This new fryer should be available soon. The price has not yet been confirmed, but we can expect to find it around €300 when it is released. As a reminder, the SL400EU is marketed at the recommended retail price of €270 and Ninja has recently offered a slightly more affordable SL300EU. This model launched at €250 offers two drawers of 3.8 l each for a total capacity of 7.6 l and slightly reduced dimensions (the depth goes from 47 cm to 42 cm), but the power and cooking modes are identical.
