Nintendo agrees to repair defective Joy-Cons for free

This is news that should delight more than one. Nintendo has just announced that from now on the repair of defective official Joy-Cons will be supported free of charge. And this, even if they are no longer under warranty. A practice already in force in certain regions such as North America, and which now extends to the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Something to please Switch owners, many of whom have already suffered the famous Joy-Con drift. A problem resulting from a manufacturing defect since the release of the Nintendo console. And if for a long time, the firm had decided to turn a blind eye to this technical problem, the threat of seeing the European Commission intervene on the subject will have finally pushed them to act.

Thus, the official site of the Japanese giant specifies that Nintendo undertakes to repair the stick of the Joy-Con controller free of charge in the event of a reactivity bug. This is for all customers who purchased the product in the EEA, UK or Switzerland. An offer, however, subject to some restrictions. Indeed, the Joy-Con must not have been damaged by a device that was not produced by Nintendo. They must also not have been used for rental and commercial purposes, which could mean abnormal use of the controller.
