Nintendo would take its time to release the next one Switch2. And for a very simple reason, it doesn’t want to let resellers make money on its consoles!
During the month of February, we learned that the long-awaited next Nintendo console, the Switch 2, would not arrive on the market until next year. Surprising information, since initially, most experts thought they would see it arrive in stores during the second half of 2024. But Nintendo gave itself time for this launch, in order to bypass parasitic sellers .

Nintendo lovers will have to be patient. Because according to a new report from Japanese media Nikkeithe Switch 2 will, at a minimum, not be marketed before March 2025.
This is not the only information given to the public. We also learn that the new generation of the famous console should remain a hybrid console similar to what we know, with the major change of a larger screen.
This time there will be something for everyone
But why wait so long? According to Nikkei, it’s for a very specific reason. Nintendo wants to be able to meet all of the demand, and not find itself in a situation where the supply of Switch 2 would become difficult.
The Japanese firm experienced this problem in 2017, with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 1, which delighted resellers, who were then able to sell the few consoles available at significantly increased prices. Which should not happen this time, given the precautions taken by the video game specialist.
Still, it won’t take too long for Nintendo. The Switch actually sold 13.74 million units during the first nine months of its fiscal year, a decline of 7.8% compared to the same period last year. The public is now clearly waiting for the new generation!
