Nintendo: Shuntaro Furukawa finally discusses the replacement for the Switch, a new presentation announced

Like every month of May, Nintendo has just revealed its financial results, which will be the subject of a separate article. There where Big N. was expected, it was obviously about its future console which until now had nothing official, but a lot of rumors behind it. President Shuntaro Furukawa therefore decided toa message on social networks in order to vaguely reveal the Japanese firm’s plans. No, it’s not today that we’ll find out a code name or what this machine will be, but at least its arrival is finally confirmed.

The announcement of this “Switch 2”, or whatever its name, will therefore be made in the fiscal year, i.e. by March 31, 2025. However, this does not mean that it will be available before this date, but we can imagine a scenario similar to the Switch, which has been very successful. Moreover, A Nintendo Direct will therefore be released next month and will focus on games released during the second half of the year. We must admit that it’s a desert at the moment, it remains to be seen if there will be some new features first party to get your teeth into, other than remakes or remasters in the universe of Mario.

This is Furukawa, president of Nintendo. We will make an announcement regarding the successor to the Nintendo Switch later this fiscal year. It’s been over nine years since we announced the Nintendo Switch in March 2015. We will be hosting a Nintendo Direct in June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the second half of 2024, but be aware thatthere will be no mention of the successor to the Nintendo Switch during this presentation.

There you go, we will still have to be patient before discovering the manufacturer’s plans. Is the Switch OLED model currently sold? €310.95 on Amazon.
