Nintendo Switch 2: Announcement coming soon? More and more clues are emerging

The Japanese publisher Nintendo doesn’t exactly host a “Nintendo Direct” program every month, but it’s about time again. The YouTube channel Nintendo Prime picks up on insider statements that say a show could take place during the week of February 5th to 11th, 2024.

There, Nintendo would certainly reveal news about upcoming games, but perhaps also about a new console, which we are initially calling the Nintendo Switch 2, after all, fans have been waiting for the announcement of new hardware for a long time and information about it is piling up.

It’s still a rumor, but a Nintendo Direct could very well take place this week. According to Comicbook, the well-known gaming journalist Jeff Grubb also assumes a show between February 5th and 11th. In 2022 and 2023, Nintendo also streamed a show at the beginning of February. So the chances are not bad that it will happen in 2024 too.

However, a show on February 15th would also be possible, as Guarana, a Resetera forum user, suggests. One of his friends was working on localizing games in Brazil and that person claimed that the show would take place on February 15th.

YouTuber “Nate the Hate” sees the reveal even taking place a little later, in March. Then the Game Developers Conference will take place and according to him it would be a suitable opportunity for Nintendo to show the developers the console.

Nothing is confirmed yet

Since predictions for a Switch 2 release are still circulating in 2024, an announcement of the console in the stream would be appropriate. Perhaps Nintendo will save this reveal for a later direct broadcast, but signs of an imminent reveal are increasing. It remains exciting.
