  • The Nintendo Switch cannot cope with particularly hot summer weather.
  • Nintendo warns against use at temperatures above 35° Celsius.
  • However, there is a protection mechanism that switches off the switch from overheating.

The Nintendo Switch is at risk in the summer, at least that’s what a message from Nintendo suggests. The company warns against excessive temperatures.

As reported by Kotaku, Nintendo warned on Twitter that the Switch is not designed for summer temperatures. The company states that the handheld hybrid should only be used at temperatures between 5° and 35° Celsius.

Now there is good and bad news: in the past few weeks there have been days when temperatures in some places in Germany have been above 35° Celsius. If the temperatures are too high, your switch can be damaged.

Good news

Fortunately, according to Nintendo, there should be a protective mechanism that ensures that the switch switches off automatically as soon as it gets too warm.

However, you should not push your luck and avoid using the Switch in the blazing sun. If it doesn’t get that warm where you are, summer will soon be coming with the announced Kirby game.
