Subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online are going to have a new way of having fun. An update to the service-dedicated Switch app has just unlocked the menu Missions and Rewardswhich invites us to complete challenges in our favorite games to get points My Nintendo. They consist, for example, of playing online over a given period or launching a particular retro game.
They can be exchanged for anything that can be purchased through Classic Platinum Points, but also against a new category of virtual items. It is now possible to use them to unlock pieces of icons to assemble to create your own user icon, namely frames, backgrounds and characters. The challenges and prizes will change on a weekly basis, and the themed games each month: for starters, these are avatar pieces inspired by super mario odyssey and Animal Crossing: New Horizons which can be collected and assembled.
Exclusive Missions
Visit the new Missions & Rewards section of the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Nintendo Switch console. There you’ll find a list of missions that you can complete just by using your Nintendo Switch Online membership as usual, such as playing online or trying out games from the Classic Games Collection. Sound easy? You are right!

Complete one of these missions, then revisit the Nintendo Switch Online app to earn your Platinum Points to redeem for digital wallpapers, physical items from the My Nintendo store, and new subscriber-exclusive icon items you can collect and gather to create a new user icon.

One of the new features that is part of the latest Nintendo Switch Online app update is the ability to redeem Platinum Points for items for your User Icon. You can obtain frames, characters or backgrounds to create your own user icon visible to Nintendo Switch players when online. We’ll feature a different theme every month, and icon items will be updated every week, so be sure to check out the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Nintendo Switch console so you don’t miss a thing!
