Fans are still hoping for a Nintendo Switch Pro and in fact there is a suspicious tip on the net.
- Nintendo’s investments in materials and supplies will increase dramatically in 2022.
- This could indicate a new Switch model.
There are already several models of the Nintendo Switch available, but fans still want a Switch Pro model that is technically more powerful than any other version.
Such a hardware update is perhaps not so unlikely, because Nintendo will invest an enormous amount of money in production material in 2022, as the well-known game forum Resetera shows.
According to this, Nintendo is investing 66 billion yen (equivalent to around 465 million euros). For comparison: in 2019 it was 32 billion yen and in 2021 “only” 9 billion yen.
Deriving from this, there is speculation about the release of a Nintendo Switch Pro for the year 2023. Such a console could offer technical benefits such as increased resolution (4K) and better frame rates in Switch games.
Other reasons possible
However, these expenses may also be a precautionary measure in view of various crises around the world and the associated supply bottlenecks.

Maybe Nintendo won’t release a Pro model either, but rather an OLED version of the cheaper Nintendo Switch Lite. You’ll have to wait even longer for a whole new generation like a Nintendo Switch 2 anyway. We will keep you up to date.
