Nintendo Switch Sports: registration for the Online Play Test is open, with precise times

During its Direct broadcast a few days ago, the Japanese manufacturer unveiled Nintendo Switch Sports, successor to Wii Sports, which will be launched at the end of April. But as of this week, the title will be playable thanks to a Online Play Test and registrations have just opened on the official website of nintendo.

To participate in this Online Play Test of Nintendo Switch Sportsyou have to pay 0 Platinum pointyes, it’s obviously free, and it allows you to get a code to enter in theeShop, which will start the download of this beta. The manufacturer provides several clarifications, in particular concerning the times at which this test phase will take place :

    • The Online Play Test software is a development version and may not correspond to the final version of Nintendo Switch Sports. Unusual behavior and errors may occur during testing.     • The test may end without prior notice. The length of sessions may be extended or shortened without prior notification.
    • Online Play Test save data cannot be transferred to the full game.
    • The Online Play Test software is a development version and is subject to change.
    • Sharing and posting information related to the Online Play Test, such as sharing images or videos of the software on social media, is prohibited.

  • When will the test be organized?

The test will be conducted over five sessions of 45 minutes each:

  • Saturday February 19
    • 04:00 – 04:45
    • 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.
    • 8:00 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

  • Sunday February 20
    • 04:00 – 04:45
    • 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.

  • What disciplines will be available?

You will be able to play bowling, tennis and chambara online against randomly assigned opponents. It will not be possible to start matches against your friends if they too are taking part in the Online Play Test.

  • What do I need to participate?
    • A Nintendo Switch* console.
    • A Nintendo Account.
    • An Internet connection.
    • An active Nintendo Switch Online membership.

*Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test is not compatible with Nintendo Switch Lite consoles.

  • How to participate ?
    • Log in to your Nintendo Account.
    • Select the “Redeem” button above and redeem the My Nintendo reward to receive a download code for the Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play Test software. You do not need to have points to claim this reward.
    • Go to the Nintendo eShop from your console and enter the code to download the software. Follow this link to find out how to register a download code.
