Nintendo: The transfer of the Switch to the next console is a major concern for the manufacturer

With the latest sales figures for its Switch, we can easily understand why nintendo is in no real hurry to move on, whether with a new, more powerful model (the famous Switch Pro) or a new generation with another console. But the question of succession still arises on the manufacturer’s premises, and it is even currently an essential subject for Big N, who wants the transition between the Switch and the next machine to go well.

The difficult stage of transition from one generation to another

As Nintendo President VGC reports, Shuntaro Furukawa, answered a few questions from investors following the company’s latest financial statement. Among the questions of the latter, there was a major concern: when and how will the next Nintendo console take over from the Switch?

Furukawa then declares that he wants to build a relationship of ” long term ” with Switch users, which will pass in particular via Nintendo accounts and the use of its licenses outside of games (so at the cinema for example, as with the film Super Mario), in order to retain the public:

Unlike in the past, we continue to have a wide variety of games slated for release even beyond five years. Indeed, the Nintendo Switch had such a smooth launch, which allowed us to focus all of our development resources on one platform. Whether we will be able to easily transition from the Nintendo Switch to the next console generation is a major concern for us.. Based on our experiences with the Wii, Nintendo DS, and other consoles, it’s very clear that one of the biggest hurdles is knowing how to easily switch between consoles. »

Nintendo therefore already seems to be looking far ahead for its Switch, with many projects in progress and others of long duration. In other words, the replacement for the Switch will not arrive tomorrow, while Nintendo finds a way to switch the current community smoothly to another platform.
