Nio disappoints, despite strong growth

(Boursier.com) — Nio Inc., the “Chinese Tesla”, a manufacturer of electric vehicles listed on Wall Street, published mixed accounts last night for its fourth fiscal quarter, deploring a loss of 2.18 billion yuan against 1.49 billion a year before. However, quarterly earnings exceeded market expectations, while guidance came in below expectations. In the fourth quarter, revenues were 9.9 billion yuan, or about $1.55 billion, bringing total sales for the year to more than 36 billion yuan, or about $5.7 billion. Total annual deliveries were 91,429 units. For the first quarter of 2022, the group intends to deliver 25 to 26,000 vehicles, representing growth ranging from 24.6 to 29.6%. Total revenue is expected between 9.631 billion and 9.987 billion yuan.
