Girlgroup makes it to the top of the charts for the anniversary
A successful anniversary: 20 years ago the No Angels conquered the album charts for the first time. With “20” they grab the throne again.
With “Elle’ments”, their debut album, the No Angels landed at the top of the official German album charts for the first time in 2001. Just in time for the anniversary 20 years later, they can repeat this success with their new album “20”. It is after the debut record “Now … Us!” from 2002 and “Pure” from 2003 the fourth number 1 album by the German girl group in the charts determined by GfK Entertainment.
“We are very moved that even after 20 years there are still so many people who are so deeply touched by our music,” said Sandy Mölling (40), Lucy Diakovska (45), Jessica Wahls (44) and Nadja Benaissa (39 ). The band is “deeply touched”. Thank you to the record company BMG and the team for “making this dream come true”.
Concert next summer
“We didn’t come together to make music together for years. We came together to celebrate 20 years of No Angels and to give something back to the fans,” Wahls said recently in an interview with the news agency spot on news. “We want to be there again and maybe, if the pandemic allows, play a little concert. This concert is to take place on June 18, 2022 in Berlin as an open-air event.
The punk band Rise Against (“Nowhere Generation”) meanwhile secured second place in the album charts this week. “Sing my song – The Exchange Concert, Vol. 8” lands on the three and Billy F Gibbons (71) from ZZ Top grabs fourth place with “Hardware”. Udo Lindenberg (75) completes the top five with “Udopium – The Best”.
