In 2003 Jessica Wahls got out of the "No Angels". But why did she do that? 18 years later, she explains the real reason for leaving.

It's the comeback of the year! Nadja Benaissa, 38, Lucy Diakovska, 44, Sandy Mölling, 39, and Jessica Wahls, 44, appear again as the "No Angels". Two weeks ago they also released a new version of their debut single "Daylight In Your Eyes". The return to the stage as a member of the "No Angels" means a lot to Jessica in particular. Because her exit from the band in 2003 was not voluntary …

Jessica Wahls: She didn't leave the "No Angels" voluntarily

18 years ago this news shocked all fans of the "No Angels": Jessica announced her resignation. At the time, it looked as if it was the wish of the 27-year-olds at the time. Now Jessica reveals: This is not true! "It was not fundamentally my decision. It was presented in such a way that I quit so that I can take better care of my family, but I would have managed that too," she said to "RTL".

In reality, the record company wanted them to quit. The reason: The Frankfurt native became a mom for the first time in March 2003 and, according to Jessica, they didn't want a second mother in the band besides Nadja, who already had a daughter. "The fear was great that if something happened, that two mothers might be canceled and then you get the feeling that you are not wanted. First I had to nibble on it," the singer recalled.

Jessica is not only a singer but also a presenter

After leaving, Jessica released records as a solo artist and since 2005 she has also worked as a presenter on television, at live events and for the radio. Since this year she has been back on stage as a member of the "No Angels". The only one missing from the comeback is Vanessa Petruo, 41. She has retired from the music business.
