If Apple intends to upset the virtual and augmented reality sectors with its Vision Pro, it has apparently revised its estimates downwards for the launch of its helmet. And not just a little.

Before hoping to get you to buy additional accessories for its Apple Vision Pro, Tim Cook’s company should first think about ways to sell its headphones.

A production still established at 1 million copies for the Apple headset?

Design, features, interface… After whole years of rumors and gestation within the Apple teams, the Vision Pro now has almost no more secrets for us. By the way, we learned just yesterday, in addition to all the other information, that the apple mixed reality headset will offer a refresh rate of up to 96 Hz. Now that we know a lot about its subject, let’s dwell for a moment on Apple’s ambitions…

It has been many months now that the various rumors of the hallway have converged on a production of 1 million helmets for the launch of the Vision Pro, whose release is set for the beginning of next year. According to the latest information, these figures have since been significantly reduced. Did you say twice as much? Three times less? It’s much more!

Apple Vision Pro: six times fewer headsets shipped at launch than expected

Yes, according to Ayesha Tariq on Twitter, from an initial production of 1 million units, we would have finally moved to a production of around 150,000 copies for the launch of the Apple Vision Pro. While Apple’s mixed reality headset is unquestionably very technologically advanced, consumers still need to be able to afford it. Needless to remind you that its starting price, set at 3,499 dollars, has largely had enough to cool many people, although it is not intended, initially at least, for all audiences.

If the American firm may have revised its plans since the formalization of its Vision Pro a few days ago, there is no doubt that it was aware that the price of its helmet of several thousand dollars was going to make people react (and that this last would probably not flow like hotcakes). In addition to sales estimates, we recently discovered that Apple’s headphones should have initially benefited from better resolution.

Anyway, and you will have understood it, it is obvious that the Vision Pro is not intended to flirt with the brand’s other devices in terms of sales volumes. On the other hand, the announcement seems to have had a very particular resonance within the technological sphere. And in that, it’s already a small victory for the Cupertino giant.
