Stefan Giese, Managing Director of Edeka Nord, sees a lot of potential for this business model: “After around two months of operation in Hohwacht, we are seeing a promising development.” An incentive for the supermarket chain to invest in the development of such sales models.
However, the idea of a 24-hour supermarket without staff is not new. A few weeks ago, an autonomous organic supermarket also opened in Hamburg’s Eppendorf district.
