No “hacker bonus” – “Grandpa waited two hours with a broken hip”

A city councilor crashes and four rescue vehicles rush to the politician’s address because of bruises – the celebrity bonus of the Vienna City Councilor for Health (SPÖ) causes outrage. FPÖ club chairman Maximilian Krauss left on Friday and described a personal incident: “Ten days ago, my 91-year-old grandpa had to wait for the ambulance for over two hours with a broken hip.”

“We are on the verge of collapse,” warn representatives of the rescue service, also in talks with the “Krone”. You don’t seem to get too much of it with a prominent name. As reported, Vienna’s Health Councilor Peter Hacker fell on his back on the steps of the terrace of his apartment. The next morning he alerted the ambulance – and they delivered a real large-scale operation. Stop at the address: an ambulance (two paramedics), an ambulance vehicle (an ambulance, a paramedic), a senior physician (for quality assurance, as it is called) and the main inspection officer on duty. A remarkable addition from the professional rescue service: “This is provided for operations with public figures.”

At least Maximilian Krauss’ grandfather does not seem to fall into this category. “I wish Hacker a speedy recovery. However, it is not clear why four (!) Ambulances are there when the health boss has to go to the hospital, ”tweeted the FPÖ politician. And further: “Ten days ago my 91-year-old grandpa had to wait for the ambulance with a broken hip for over two hours.”

Many readers of “Krone” and krone.at see it similarly. “Sure, there has to be special treatment for politicians. Same and equal, ”writes one. Another: “You know how things are going for us anyway! I would be more surprised if it were exactly the same for such patients as for normal patients. ”Others, on the other hand, take the city council’s protection into account – conclusion:“ He will not have ordered four emergency vehicles himself, others are responsible for them. ”
Incidentally, Hacker did not have to stay in the hospital – he was released into home care.
