School holidays… or the ordeal of this deadline… every 6 weeks. Confidence, bravery and resilience!!!

Managing everyone’s schedules during school periods is already hot potato!!! And here I am talking to you by putting aside the days of strike, the days without a canteen, the days when our toddlers are sick, the days without a mistress and the days without a replacement for the mistress… Let’s talk about these 2-week periods that come up every 6 weeks and during which you seek to occupy your children and especially to find people likely to take care of them! In the best of all worlds, you and I would dream of taking the same leave. If you who read me you have this chance, benefit for us others! And courage if you are a teacher and you manage our children the rest of the time… eternal respect! Since the confinement, I know lucidly how much I was not armed to teach!

So you who have to manage 2 weeks of extracurricular, granny / grandpa or let your teenagers acquire autonomy by assuming more (but who spend their days in front of the PS, snap and TikTok by making yourself a box of instant noodles at best !), you know that working serenely while your children are on vacation is a utopia, your head is elsewhere, your energy exhausted, your sleep fractured and your quiet evenings in your dreams!! Yeah “We are on vacation mum, seriously, we’re not going to go to bed at 9 p.m. !!!

Elodie Gossuin: “The other week I get lost”

To be transparent with you, I often have 1 week out of the 2 off with my 4 treasures and I am aware of this privilege. We leave, we enjoy, we meet again… but the other week I get lost!

Crazy wisdom (yes I have just done a lot of Project Voltaire, thank you school!!! And the oxymoron fascinates me!!!), I still hope to manage everything : do not ask for help, work and at the same time manage the homework for the start of the school year, take them to the cinema, take the time to savor the time with them, tell them “let’s turn off the TV and the tablets and open our eyes” (Sacred antithesis Voltaire!), but no, I don’t manage everything as I had imagined!

But life is like this, it’s like the dream pregnancy or the idealized childbirth, the child you imagine and the parent you think you will be before you are simply and humbly in reality! I did not find the solution and I’m not waiting for the revolution (thanks Christophe Willem – I won’t fall), but if you have any tips, a desire to set up a colony of wags, contact me!
