No Krosmonote for Ankama in 2023

2024 will be calmer for Ankama. In any case, this is what we can think of when looking at the end-of-year 2023 overload and the absence of Krosmonote to announce future projects.

No Krosmonote for Ankama in 2023

The announcement was quite discreet, during the Ankama live on Tuesday, November 21 with the members of the Dofus team. This took place mainly to celebrate the end of the Osatopia 2 servers, closing the same morning, during maintenance. However, apart from a few figures, such as that of the 900 players who managed to amass all the Kromas, attention was focused more on the ancillary announcements.

Among other things, Ankama is not planning Krosmonote this year. This event has taken place in person or remotely since 2019, in the October-December period, and made it possible to detail the company’s production schedules. All projects were then in the spotlight, from editions to Waven, during a long live stream. This absence seems to be caused by a large overload at the end of 2023 which must alternate between:

  • Time 8
  • The release of One More Gate
  • The Special Oropo episode of Wakfu season 4
  • The release of Waven, then its mobile edition
  • The announcement of Krosfighter then its release in January 2024
  • Single-account Wakfu servers

Projects have tended to step on each other’s toes in recent weeks, as evidenced by a fairly drastic drop in players on Waven following the arrival of single-account Wakfu. Concerning Dofus, however, announcements are still to be expected. After all, it was mostly a stream about the game.

Dofus 2 Unity in particular will be entitled to a new major communication / devblog between now and December. After the interfaces, many points of the porting still need to be clarified. We will remember with a little spice the appearances of the characters, from whom the players are still waiting for surveys and definitive proposals. The Easy Anti-Cheat of update 2.70 has also been talked about, with a possible cancellation of its integration as early as December. The decision is not yet final but everything seems to be pushing for a delay in the arrival of the solution. Bugs in beta are accumulating and the tool is probably not yet ready.

Finally, on the Game Design side, a live around beta balancing will take place today (day of writing the article) with Crocus and Idseas. The latter will return in particular to last-minute changes, such as the mini Cra overhaul. On the side of Kewl, present during the stream, we are talking more about a second season of expeditions under study.
