Before the debate and then the vote in the Assembly, scheduled for next Tuesday, on the support granted to Ukraine by France, Emmanuel Macron received party leaders at the Élysée this Thursday to discuss this issue. But the oppositions hardly appreciate Emmanuel Macron’s offensive speech on the subject.

It’s a posture that doesn’t work. This Thursday, Emmanuel Macron received party leaders at the Élysée to discuss in particular the situation on the front in Ukraine and discuss the terms of support granted by Paris. And again showed himself to be quite offensive by assuring that this support had “no limits” and that “no red lines” were drawn up.

A speech which arouses the unanimous disapproval of its opponents, from the right and the left, like the coordinator of the Insoumis, Manuel Bompard. “The President of the Republic does not really seem to understand the risk that this stubbornness for the military route could pose for France, but for the world in general.”

The debates promise to be heated on Tuesday

Same fear at the National Rally. Jordan Bardella took the opportunity to respond to Emmanuel Macron who strongly criticized his party on Wednesday in front of his ministers. “They were already war, now they are defeat against Russia,” he declared.

Scandalous remarks for the president of the flame party. “I told him that the electoral campaign in which we are engaged today does not allow everything. And that, precisely, to compare a political movement, which represents 42% of the electorate during the last presidential election, to a foreign occupation army which defies the interests of the French was completely irresponsible.

The debate on the security agreement signed with Ukraine therefore promises to be heated on Tuesday in the Assembly and Wednesday in the Senate. The votes will, however, not have binding value for the executive.
