Lateral thinkers march in Stuttgart

The police are expecting around 2500 supporters of the lateral thinker movement to protest against the Corona measures in Stuttgart. Hundreds of people gather hours earlier in the capital of Baden-Württemberg without masks or distance. Memories of Kassel are awakened.

The police have lined up in Stuttgart with a few hundred officials for several demonstrations against the Corona requirements and planned counter-protests. In the morning several hundred participants of a registered meeting had already arrived at Marienplatz, said the spokesman for the Stuttgart police, Stefan Keilbach. The first reports about many participants without mask and distance will be followed up. In the event of violations of the mask requirement and the prescribed intervals, the city of Stuttgart has announced that it will dissolve meetings.

So far, however, the police are apparently holding back. Under the # s0304 There are many videos on Twitter showing hundreds of people on Marienplatz. Distance requirements or the mask requirement are obviously not observed. A larger police presence is still not recognizable. According to their own information, the Stuttgart police “the participants for compliance with the rules”. Several police helicopters are used to document the gathering.

Lateral thinking and his colleagues speak out against the current Corona measures. The movement is being observed by the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Baden-Württemberg. According to the police, only around 2,500 supporters were originally expected to attend a rally on the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart in the afternoon. For this purpose, several smaller gatherings are planned in the city area.

Last summer, up to 10,000 people demonstrated on the Wasen. Most recently, on March 20, a demonstration in Kassel with more than 20,000 people hit the headlines – only 6000 were allowed. The police also received negative attention. While participants in the lateral thinking movement were allowed to march through the center of Kassel for hours without masks, counter-demonstrators were violently attacked. Among other things, the operations management at the time checked whether police officers violated the principle of neutrality and had made common ground with the protesters. The Thuringian Ministry of the Interior is also investigating a physical attack by one of its officials who was on site to provide support in Kassel.
