This Friday, October 14, France 3 broadcast a new issue of One day, a destiny dedicated to the legendary couple formed by Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan. And during the documentary, the singer notably returned to intimate images immortalized by paparazzi.
Their love story forever marked the yéyé years. In 1965, when they met a few years earlier, Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday says “yes” to each other, marking the beginning of a relationship that will have its ups and downs. A child, David, born in 1966, shared concerts, duets… They formed one of the most glamorous couples. But behind the facade smiles, the rocker and the singer lived a rocky relationship, to the point of divorcing after 15 years of marriage.
And this Friday, October 14, France 3 wanted to come back to this story, by broadcasting the documentary Sylvie, Johnny, the terrible lovers. A few years before their romance ended, the couple had decided to fly to the United States in 1971, to live an enchanted parenthesis. On American soil, Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan have thus lived their love intensely, forgetting in the process the presence of the paparazzi. During’a moment for two by the pool, they thus offered some torrid scenes to the photographers and cameramen present around them.
Sylvie Vartan: “I admit it was sexy”
Images that amuse Sylvie Vartan today, even if she is still a little embarrassed by rediscovering them. “When I see him now, I say to myself now ‘It’s crazy ! No shame!’“, she confided in the documentary commented by Laurent Delahousse. To continue: “At the same time, we said to ourselves that we were living our life. Sylvie Vartan, however, could not help but make a small confession by reviewing images of her and Johnny exchanging a languorous kiss in the swimming pool. “I admit it was sexy. I wonder how two people are so shy. I wonder if we realized that someone was filming us”, explained the 78-year-old singer.
During this documentary, the latter also returned to the connection which united her to the Taulier. “We understood the same things, we felt the same things, the same emotions and the same needs », she said, adding that both of them knew when they had to “separate” Where “meet”.
