No more slap in the face at the Oscars: Hollywood has prepared not to relive a drama à la Will Smith

After the unfortunate episode of Will Smith’s slap at the 2022 Oscars, the Academy decided to create a specialized team to anticipate this kind of incident.

Last year, the Oscars ceremony was rocked by an unexpected event that caused a lot of ink to flow, Will Smith’s slap in the face of Chris Rock.

This year, the Academy does not intend to let such an incident happen again on stage. Interviewed by the magazine TimeBill Kramer, CEO of the Oscars, assured that everything had been done to avoid a new crisis of this type.

“We have set up a crisis cell with a team dedicated to this task. It is something we have never done before and we are ready for all situations”explains Kramer.

We have set up a crisis unit with a team devoted to this task.

“We have worked out many scenarios; therefore, we hope to be prepared for all unexpected situations”he says.

After the slapping incident, we realized that we had to be more attentive to anything that might happen during the ceremony.

“After the slapping incident, we realized that we had to be more attentive to anything that might happen during the ceremony. Thanks to our crisis unit and our new dedicated team, we will be able to face any circumstance and act accordingly”says Bill Kramer.

The CEO, however, hopes that they don’t have to activate their plans and that the Oscars will go off without a hitch. In any case, he ensures that all the frameworks are in place to anticipate and avoid a new slap crisis.
