No new contract in the summer: FC Bayern will probably put Boateng at the door

FC Bayern probably puts Boateng in front of the door

The future of Jérôme Boateng has been preoccupying FC Bayern for a long time. The defender was almost gone, but is now an integral part of the defense again. Nevertheless, the club apparently lets the 32-year-old go in the summer.

After ten years, Jérôme Boateng’s era at FC Bayern will finally end next summer. As the “Kicker” reports, the decision not to extend the contract of the 32-year-old central defender was recently taken and passed by the FC Bayern München AG Supervisory Board. Accordingly, this “definitive decision” has already been communicated to the defender and his agent.

Personnel Boateng has repeatedly caused a stir on Säbener Strasse in recent weeks. Although the ex-national player has played his part in the current success of the record champions with 30 competitive games in the current season, he could not recommend himself for another engagement in Munich.

Boateng’s internal “intimate enemy” Uli Hoeneß also recently caused a sensation with a statement about the possible DFB comeback of the 76-time national player. Boateng would not take Hoeneß in Jogi Löw’s place to the EM next summer, Hoeneß announced in his new role as RTL expert. Boateng’s team-mate Thomas Müller and BVB defense chief Mats Hummels, on the other hand, deserved places in the German squad for the finals, according to the long-time manager, president and supervisory board chief of FC Bayern.

Coach Hansi Flick then criticized Hoeneß for his assessment and stood protectively in front of his player. “I know from Bayern Munich that you always support your players,” said the successful coach. Boateng, who moved from Manchester City to the record champions in 2011, has so far held back publicly with a reaction to the alleged Bayern exit. According to “Sport1”, after Hoeneß’s announcement, the veteran wanted to give the answer on the pitch in the coming weeks. At the same time, the two-time triple winner (2013 and 2020) must now also look for a new club.
