The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP) will force many French people to change their habits. Some will find themselves teleworking, others will have to take a different route to go to work, still others will take the opportunity to rent their accommodation and make a nice jackpot. Prohibit parcel delivery during the 2024 Olympics
France has been anticipating the management of the JOPs for months. While the construction site is always full, the government invites individuals to do not order packages during the competition. The message was posted on the site from the Ministry of Transport, via the “Frequently Asked Questions” dedicated to personal and professional travel which will take place during the JOP. At the question “As an individual, will it be possible to receive packages or deliveries during the Games?“, the government is clear.
In response, the Ministry of Transport invites individuals “as far as possible” has “anticipate [leurs] package orders so that they are delivered before July 24, after September 8 or between the two Olympics, i.e. between August 12 and 27, 2024“. As a reminder, the Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
Government advice to optimize parcel deliveries
During the JOP period, traffic restrictions will be established in many areas of France. So in order to avoid congestion for individuals and professionals, the government prefers to prevent. If you must receive a package at all costs, the Ministry of Transport then invites you to consult traffic forecasts in advance “in order to favor deliveries at times and days with less traffic“. Other eventualities, you are otherwise encouraged to favor deliveries which are made by bike or on footas well as relay points located outside security perimeters.
