No PS5? This is an announcement that will please you!

Final Fantasy 16 is coming soon exclusively to PS5. While the hype surrounding the game is real, many gamers are a bit disappointed to see that the next game in the franchise will be exclusive to PlayStation. This speech from the big boss of FF16 should therefore make them happy.

Final Fantasy 16 will be released on June 22 and is one of the few first-half games to be released exclusively on PS5. Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy 16, confirmed a few weeks ago that only the PS5 allowed the title to reach such technical and graphic standards. The developer has never hidden his love for Sony’s console. He and the firm are longtime companions and he didn’t want to talk about anything other than the PlayStation. Except that here, in addition to the dumpling that was made during the very first presentation of the game, it was quickly confirmed that this FF16 was only a temporary exclusive. And we finally know Square Enix’s plans for the sequel.

Square Enix does not forget gamers without PS5

Asked by the ASCII media, Naoki Yoshida is already discussing the future of his Final Fantasy 16 after only kicking in touch when questioned on the subject. He thus confirms to us that a PC version of FF16. He also confirms that the Creative Business Unit III, a division of Square Enix, is in charge of development and that the teams will “work carefully on PC version after release [du jeu sur PS5]”. Good news for those who don’t own Sony’s latest console.

However, we do not yet know how long this port will take to arrive. A few months ago, Naoki Yoshida asked players not to expect the PC version to come out within six months of the PS5 version. We will most certainly have to wait a good year before seeing a port worthy of the name arrive. But anyway, it happens. However, no mention has been made of a possible Xbox Series version. At first glance, it does not seem to be on the agenda at all.

Final Fantasy 16 even better on PC than on PS5?

In recent years, PS5 exclusives developed by PlayStation’s in-house studios often end up making their way to PC. This will soon be the case for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, For example. Typically, these ports benefit from new graphics options that transcend the gameplay experience. Even though Square Enix is merely partnering with Sony and not part of PlayStation Studios, Final Fantasy 16 is still expected to arrive with new features on PC. To the point of considering that this port will be better than the PS5 version available on June 22? Hard to say as it stands. Even if that’s the case, those with a PS5 but also a super-powered PC should have a hard time waiting for a port and not rushing the RPG in a few days.
