No Rest for the Wicked gets early access – Gamosaurus

As announced, No Rest of the Wicked took advantage of the presentation Wicked Inside Friday March 1st to reveal its gameplay in more detail. But above all to finally share a release date. Thus, the new action-RPG game from Moon Studios and Private Division will be released in early access from April 18, 2024 on PC via the Steam platform.

After the poetic environments ofOri and the blind forest Or Ori and the Will of the WispsMoon Studios this time seems to want to go with a much darker plot and a more gloomy atmosphere.

No rest for the Wicked takes place in the year 841 in an enchanted universe where the kingdom is seriously threatened by the Pestilence. In the shoes of a CĂ©rime, member of a sect whose mission is to defeat Pestilence, the player will begin his adventure on the shores of the island Isola Sacra. And, before he can even investigate the scourge that is consuming this world, he will have to learn to survive it without any weapons or armor to begin with.

Demanding battles

The title which offers exploration in isometric view is however much closer to a Souls-like than to a hack and slash. Indeed, the developers announce the color with combat described as ruthless and which must be approached with caution. Especially since the character’s dodging and mobility will largely depend on the equipment he has on his back. You will therefore have to adapt your fighting style according to this element. It remains to be seen whether the title will be as punitive as most Souls.

A class system will also be present without constraining players in their choice of progression. The attribute points can in fact be placed according to your wishes and this will really shape the abilities of your character and not their class.

For its early access release, No Rest for the Wicked will only be playable solo. However, according to Moon Studios’ roadmap, the game should benefit from a multiplayer mode from its first major update. Planned only on PC for its early access, the action-RPG will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series for its 1.0 release.
