dvp. The entire airspace in Switzerland is closed for security reasons until further notice. The reason for this is technical problems, according to a statement from Skyguide air traffic control. We regret the incident and are working hard to find a solution.

Due to the IT glitch at Skyguide, take-offs and landings are currently not possible at Zurich Airport. A spokeswoman for the airport said it was not known how long the disruption would last. The airport remains open. However, boarding is no longer possible.

Swiss planes from Chicago and Montreal were diverted to Basel and Milan on Wednesday morning. A plane from Shanghai en route to Zurich diverts to Vienna, planes from Dubai and Johannesburg to Milan. Other flights were diverted to Munich and Frankfurt.

Geneva Airport also reported in a Twitter message that no landings or take-offs could take place until 11 a.m. due to the IT glitch at Skyguide. Passengers are asked to follow the airlines’ communications.
