In the casting of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, American actor Noah Schnapp revealed his homosexuality on Tik Tok on Thursday January 5, 2023. The actor also revealed the reaction of his relatives after having announced to them.
Mainly known for lending his features to the character of Will Byers in the series Stranger Things on Netflix, American actor Noah Schnapp made a very noticeable announcement Thursday, December 5, 2022 on Tik Tok. That day, the 18-year-old comedian came out, by revealing to Internet users its homosexuality. In the video that Noah Schnapp posted online that day, Internet users could see him filming himself in full lip sync to the sound of another voice. The latter said:It was never that important. Honestly, it will never be that important.“
The actor also revealed what was the reaction of his relatives when he announced his homosexuality to them. “I finally told my friends and family that I’m gay after spending 18 years of fear in the closet and they simply replied: ‘we know’“, he said, before throwing a little nod to the character he plays in Stranger Things since he was 11 years old:Obviously I look more like Will than I thought.“. As a reminder, it had now been several years since fans of Stranger Things put forward different theories regarding the sexual orientation of the character of Will Byers in the series.

“It was suggested from season 1: it was always there but it was never sure (…) Now that he is older (the scriptwriters) have made something very real and certain out of it. It’s now 100% clear that he’s gay and in love with Mike (embodied by Finn Wolfhardeditor’s note)“, had indicated Noah Schnapp, in an interview granted to variety in July 2022. As a reminder, the 4th season of Stranger Things was released on Netflix in May 2022. As with the previous three, it was a huge success to subscribers of the American streaming platform. A 5th and final season has already been announced. It now remains to be seen what will become of the character played by Noah Schnapp in these last episodes.
