Noel Gallagher: Oasis star does not wear a mask in protest

"If I get the virus, that's my problem." With these words, Noel Gallagher defends his rejection of the mask requirement.

In Great Britain, the number of corona infections has been rising significantly for weeks. Similar regulations apply on the island as in Germany: For example, a mask requirement in public transport, shops or shopping centers. The former Oasis star Noel Gallagher (53, "Chasing Yesterday") doesn't seem to care at all. In "The Matt Morgan Podcast" the musician ranted against everything and everyone in the usual manner, including the mask requirement: "I don't wear a mask, no" and followed up with a few swear words.

Gallagher also complained that the government had robbed the citizens of too many freedoms. "I don't give a shit," he rumbled on, "I've decided not to wear one. If I get the virus, that's my problem." Then he put forward a daring thesis: if everyone else wore a mask, he would not be infected. And the others not from him, since they would already be using mouth and nose protection.

Gallagher is facing significant headwinds on social media. He did not understand the virus and the pandemic, was extremely ignorant and selfish, they say, among other things. Another user tried to explain the problem and wrote, "Nobody cares if you get the virus." Rather, it is about him spreading it if Gallagher was infected. "You're an idiot," the user ends his tweet.
