Citizens’ initiative against it
The company argues: “We need this alternative heating system to heat the hall and for process heat for our ovens.” But the residents in the neighborhood are up in arms about it. They fear noise, truck traffic and stench. “It’s a scandal, selling new building sites and then agreeing to a project like this!” says Karen Golz, the coordinator of the citizens’ initiative, angrily. The residents are primarily disturbed by the huge wood chip system with a meter-high chimney. “We fear that we will be in the fog at low pressure and get the entire emission,” says Golz.
