Nokia: modules obtain the ‘Buy America’ standard


(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia announced today that its electronic and optical modules for fiber optic broadband networks manufactured in the United States meet the Department of Commerce’s ‘Buy America’ guidelines.

As a ‘Buy America’ compliant supplier, Nokia now believes it is ‘one of the few groups able to provide products and services for broadband infrastructure projects focused on bridging the digital divide’.

By complying with the final guidelines from the NTIA (the National Telecommunications and Information Administration), Nokia will be able to fully support states that plan to launch BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) projects in 2024. and equal access to the broadband network).

The first Nokia products manufactured in the United States meeting ‘Buy America’ standards can be delivered in June 2024, warns the Finnish firm.
