Nokia: opens a site dedicated to cyber-security in Texas

(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia today announced the launch of its ‘Advanced Security Testing and Research (ASTaR)’ laboratory, located in Dallas (Texas), the first site in the United States dedicated solely to cyber-security and enabling end-to-end 5G testing.

ASTaR will use and develop state-of-the-art tools and techniques aimed at assessing the resilience and security of 5G networks. It will then be a question of using these results to deal with emerging security threats.

Lab researchers will work with the cybersecurity community to identify emerging threat vectors and potential vulnerabilities.

‘ Nokia will be the first to inaugurate a laboratory in the United States with the singular mission of identifying and preventing cybersecurity attacks. The ASTaR lab will be an ideal testing ground to assess security in the broader context of network use and abuse scenarios,” summarizes Nishant Batra, Nokia’s Chief Strategy and Technology Officer.
