(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia announces that Centranet, an internet service provider in Oklahoma, is the first company to demonstrate a 50 Gbps fiber internet connection for a Native American nation in Oklahoma.
This live commercial test, using Nokia’s Lightspan fiber solution, connected the Sauk and Fox Nation to one of the fastest residential internet speeds in the world, marking ‘a significant milestone in bridging the digital divide in rural and indigenous communities’, assures Nokia.
Mark Klimek, vice president of the North American Business Center at Nokia, highlighted the importance of this technology in ensuring equitable access to the internet, while Randle Carter, Chief of the Sauk and Fox Nation, highlighted the benefits of this project for his community.
