(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia and Wind River have successfully completed an end-to-end 5G data call with Nokia’s AirScale 5G Cloud RAN solution on Wind River Studio, demonstrating Nokia’s flexible approach to supporting diverse RAN environments.
This trial, conducted at Nokia’s Open Cloud RAN Innovation Center in Dallas, used Massive MIMO radios and baseband software from Nokia.
Wind River Studio, based on the StarlingX open source project, offers a cloud-native architecture for managing distributed edge networks, simplifying operations and providing an automated solution.
This collaboration enables communications service providers to benefit from more choice and flexibility, accelerating the transition to open and cloud RAN architectures.
