Nokia: was selected by NIC.br in Brazil

(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia has been selected by the Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.br), the world’s largest IXP operator, to improve the performance and reliability of Brazil’s Internet infrastructure.

Nokia’s cutting-edge IP routing solutions will support NIC.br’s mission to interconnect the Brazilian Internet ecosystem and enable its expansion and reliability. NIC.br will replace part of its current technology with the Nokia 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR) and the Nokia 7750 Service Router (SR).

The network upgrade comes as the country faces massive growth in internet data traffic expected to reach 218.5 million users and more than 50 terabits per second (Tbps) over the next five years .

Vach Kompella, senior vice president and general manager of the IP Networks business at Nokia, said: ‘To keep up with Brazil’s meteoric growth, it is essential to increase network capacity, reliability and automation for network upgrade of NIC.br. Nokia routing solutions are designed to handle the world’s most demanding traffic environments and enable the delivery of high-quality services, such as EVPN. ‘
