Nord Stream: Russia opens an investigation for “international act of terrorism”

Russia’s public prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday that the Russian security services (FSB) had opened an investigation into “an act of international terrorism” after the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. “The Russian Federation has suffered serious economic damage as a result of these acts,” adds the prosecution.

The UN Security Council will meet on Friday at Russia’s request on this sabotage, Sweden and France announced on Wednesday. Subject of all suspicions after these events, Moscow had counter-attacked by demanding this meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday and pointing to the United States.
