  • Nord VPN is one of the largest VPN providers.
  • One of the newest features is called “Meshnet”.
  • This enables a direct connection to other devices.

NordVPN is one of the most popular and widely used VPN services in Germany and has a wide variety of features to offer. With the latest update, the “Meshnet” function has been added, which enables the connection between individual devices. This creates many new application possibilities for you.

File sharing and working together

For example, it can create a virtual LAN network and you can play LAN multiplayer with friends around the world. You can also access data from other devices when you’re on the go, as long as they’re connected to the internet. Another advantage is working together on projects via a local web server. This can be easily created and used with just a few clicks.

In total, you can link up to 10 of your own devices with Meshnet. In addition, you can connect up to 50 external devices belonging to friends or colleagues to share data or create a LAN network.

How does Meshnet work?

Meshnet makes it possible to access other devices via private and encrypted “tunnels”. The way it works is similar to a VPN, except that it connects directly to other devices and does not go through a server, no matter where the device is located.

Meshnet runs on the NordLynx protocol, which is built on top of WireGuard and enhanced with data protection solutions. According to the provider, this basis should ensure first-class security for all connections between devices via Meshnet.

This is how you use Meshnet

You can activate Meshnet on your devices via the NordVPN app or you can send invitations to contacts who also use NordVPN. Then access a device using its unique Nord name or IP address.
