Nordic Combined – Ramsau: Lisa Hirner on course for a podium finish after jumping

After the Nordic Combined competition at the home World Cup in Ramsau, Lisa Hirner has a very good chance of a place on the podium. The 19-year-old Styrian finished second in the third competition of the World Championships on Friday morning with a 93.0 m jump. The gap to the Norwegian Gyda Westvold Hansen in the lead before the decisive 5 km cross-country skiing (1.15 p.m.) is 42 seconds.

Hirner is two seconds ahead of third-placed German Nathalie Armbruster. The Italian Annika Sieff, who is a little weaker on the cross-country ski run, is fourth, twelve seconds behind Hirner. “I’ll leave a lot behind when I land, but I’m satisfied,” said Hirner. Annalena Slamik, the second Austrian at the start, was not satisfied with a jump over 80 m (+2:20 min.) and 15th place. Another competition is on the program on Saturday. The women’s Nordic combined celebrated its debut in Ramsau two years ago. For Hirner, who is aiming for her first podium at the home World Cup, it was enough for sixth and fifth place in Styria. At the start of the season in Lillehammer she finished third and fourth.
