His father, his hero. On September 6, 2021, Jean-Paul Belmondo bowed out. He who had remained diminished since his stroke in 2001 decided to surrender. A painful moment for his family, and in particular his son Paul. Almost a year after his father’s death, Paul Belmondo speaks with great emotion and sincerity about his impossible mourning. Jean-Paul Belmondo has not left the hearts or minds of his family. “He is always there, with us, every second“, confirms the father of Alessandro, Victor and Giacomo Belmondo. “This is another report, but despite the absence, it remains more than ever present. And people remind me everyday by telling me about him“, explains this young grandfather.

But this absence is likely to be felt even more when Luana Belmondo’s husband will get back on the boards. From October to next February, he will put on his comedian hat for the needs of the play boeing boeing. The only one for which Jean-Paul Belmondo has never attended one of his son’s performances. “He came to see me in all my rooms, except this last one, unfortunately“, he laments. However, knowing his father in the room was a source of stress for Paul Belmondo. “He always came on opening nights, which gave me extra nervousness“, he recalls with tenderness. From now on, this additional pressure will miss him.
