Dobrindt complains about traffic light parties

CSU politician Dobrindt believes that the future traffic light coalition members are “not in good style.” During the debates about the number of Bundestag vice-presidents and the seating arrangements, he complains about “inappropriate” thoughts.

CSU regional group leader Alexander Dobrindt has accused the SPD, Greens and FDP, as members of a future traffic light coalition, to behaving in style towards the opposition. He would have expected a little more courtesy at the beginning of an electoral term. One can see that the SPD, Greens and FDP want to “exercise their new power impressively against the opposition parties”.

Dobrindt cited the discussion about the number of Bundestag vice-presidents and the seating arrangements in the Bundestag as evidence. The SPD, Greens and FDP wanted to lead the dispute not only in terms of content, but also with regard to the political statics. He “thinks this way of dealing with people is not good style, especially at the beginning of an electoral term.”

There are four members of future government parliamentary groups in the Bundestag presidium, but only two from the opposition of the Union and the left-wing parliamentary group. This does not correspond to the weighting in Parliament. Instead, Dobrindt would have preferred to see two vice presidents of the Union.

Dobrindt also sees the FDP’s demand for a change in the seating arrangement as an affront: “We want to move the Union closer to the AfD.” The idea behind this plan is “improper and totally inappropriate”. So far, the AfD sits on the far right as seen from the Presidium, next to it the FDP, then comes the Union. The FDP wants to move more into the middle, so that the Union’s places would be right next to those of the AfD. Dobrindt, like the rest of the Union, has no desire for that.
