Not Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi: This is the best-selling smartphone on Amazon

Current top smartphones now cost well over 1,000 euros. However, if we look at which cell phones are selling the most, it is not necessarily the premium devices from Apple, Samsung or Xiaomi. If you take a look at Amazon’s current cell phone charts, you will be surprised to see who is in first place.

The Motorola Moto G14 has currently secured this spot, even ahead of the iPhone – and it costs just 105 euros. This model was sold over 1,000 times last month. And rightly so? Let’s take a look at the features of the 100-euro phone.

Good equipment at a very fair price

The Moto G14 has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) and 128 gigabytes of internal memory. That’s very decent for the price range, and you also have the option of expanding the memory up to 1 terabyte using a microSD card.

Another practical feature: the smartphone is dual-SIM capable, so you can use it with two SIM cards at the same time. NFC is also on board, which is by no means standard for such an inexpensive cell phone. The technology is used for mobile payments for convenient use of smart locks such as the Yale Linus Smart Lock 2.

The battery is generously sized at 5,000 milliampere hours. It should easily get you through the day. Thanks to the quick-charge function, it can also be recharged quickly if the capacity drops to zero.

5G on board

With the dual camera on the back you can take photos with up to 50 megapixels. With the front camera you can take selfies or video calls with up to two megapixels. Another highlight is the connection to the new 5G network. Many competing models in this price segment offer a maximum of LTE – with the Moto G14 you benefit from a broad network connection.

In terms of performance, you shouldn’t expect too much: The Moto G14 comes with four gigabytes of RAM and a simple eight-core processor, the Unisoc T616. This makes it suitable for simple tasks such as surfing, streaming and social networks. Of course, games are also possible. With very demanding games or a lot of multitasking, the smartphone can reach its limits – but that’s completely normal given the price.

Buying recommendation: Yes, but not on Amazon

Overall, the Moto G14 is a solid everyday phone that scores points above all with its good price-performance ratio. You can buy it without hesitation, but you shouldn’t do so on Amazon. Media Markt is currently running a big VAT promotion.
