Expected on April 26 exclusively on PS5, Stellar Blade already has a little brother in the works from the South Korean studio Shift Up. This one is actively recruiting for another futuristic AAA Action-RPG. You can not make that up.
Among the big video game releases of the month of April, Stellar Blade is clearly among our greatest expectations. Not yet released, the PS5 exclusive already has a successor on the way at Shift Up. Given the description of the job offers about it, one could mistakenly think that it will be a second opus. However, a few elements leave room for doubt.
Not yet released, Stellar Blade is already receiving a sequel?
Things have clearly picked up lately for Stellar Blade. For years a closely guarded secret of the PS5, communication around the game shifted into high gear in 2024. The first State of Play of the year finally allowed us to learn more about its universe, then a demo was deployed on March 29. All that remains now is to wait until April 26 to see if our first good impressions are confirmed with the full game.
For Shift Up, the Korean studio behind Stellar Blade, however, it is already clearly time to look to the future. He has recently published various job offers on his official website (obviously in Hangul). Their next game would be an AAA Action-RPG where we will face various creatures and monsters in a sci-fi urban environment. Does that not remind you of something ?
The difference game
By further reading the job offers for the game that will follow Stellar Blade, however, we can notice some small differences. First of all, it is a cross-platform game. It would therefore not be a PS5 exclusive, since it would also target PC, Xbox Series and even mobile. This new production would also be developed under Unreal Engine 5.
It is therefore still too early to know exactly whether it will be Stellar Blade 2 or a completely new license. However, it would be strange if, if necessary, it were multi-platform. PlayStation isn’t really known for sharing its toys on consoles. While waiting to learn more, we are of course watching with a certain excitement for April 26 to find EVE and see where this promising adventure will take us.
