“One Piece” star Emily Rudd is a huge anime fan. However, “One Piece” is not one of the Nami actress’ favorites. We reveal your top 4!
- “One Piece” on Netflix is very popular, and not only fans of the anime and manga series are enthusiastic.
- With Nami actress Emily Rudd, the live-action adaptation had a real anime expert on set.
- However, “One Piece” is not one of her favorite anime.
You don’t have to be an anime fan to star in an anime adaptation – but it can’t hurt! Anyone who has seen “One Piece” on Netflix knows that Iñaki Godoy is the ideal choice for Mokey D. Luffy, but he actually didn’t know “One Piece” before, as he revealed to Collider in an interview.
Before I watch ‘One Piece’ [gedreht] I haven’t really watched much anime […]. After filming “One Piece,” I got more into anime. Honestly, ‘One Piece’ is kind of my thing. I tried ‘Chainsaw Man’. I think it’s really cool, but I think it’s a little too violent for me.
Inaki Godoy
Godoy’s statement that he had recently started “Demon Slayer” was met with an enthusiastic “Yes!” from Nami actress Emily Rudd. commented, because unlike Godoy, Rudd is a real anime expert.
There’s no place for “One Piece” in Emily Rudd’s top 4
Of course, Rudd had more tips for Godoy, so she recommended “Attack on Titan” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” to him. However, Rudd herself has other favorites, as she revealed to Collider when asked:
My favorite anime is called ‘Made in Abyss’, but I love ‘Demon Slayer’, ‘JJK’, ‘Tokyo Ghoul’. I’ve seen too many to name them all.
Emily Rudd
As Rudd himself admits, these are mainly well-known anime series, but you should look into them if you want to learn more about anime. If you are now interested in “Made in Abyss”, you can watch the series for free in Amazon’s Prime Video subcategory Freevee.
Godoy and Rudd can still pass the time with anime until the very likely second season of “One Piece” starts filming, but as soon as the strike ends in the USA, everything should happen very quickly. With luck, we’ll even see Luffy, Nami, Zorro and Co. again on Netflix in 2024.
